PAWS Adoption Fair
PAWS Atlanta. Sunday, 12pm – 4pm. Free.
Searching for a furry friend to call your own? Look no further than the PAWS Adoption Fair. As the only “no kill” shelter in the Atlanta area, PAWS offers a wide selection of dogs and cats, all of which are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. In addition to a pet, adopters will bring home a goody bag filled with treats, toys, and maybe even a plethora of promotional pet products.

Festival on Ponce
Olmsted Linear Park. Saturday, 10am – 7pm; Sunday, 11am – 6pm. Free.
This inaugural arts, craft and entertainment festival offers something for everyone, including an Artist’s Market with handmade wares, a Children’s Park, local food and beverage concessions and live acoustic music sets. Chow down on food and treats from local vendors King of Pops, Fox Bros. Barbecue, Tex Taco’s Food Truck, Yumbii Food Truck, The Pie Store, and many more!

The Puckin’ Fuppet Show
The Basement Theatre. Saturday, 11pm – 12:30am. $5+.
The Puckin’ Fuppet Show is Atlanta’s premier competitive Puppet Slam with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as voted for by the audience. Local favorites, up-and-comers, and the occasional visiting artist will all give everything they’ve got for the coveted 1st place prize. This is an open mic event, so anyone can participate!

Pig and Pinot
Ray’s on the River. Saturday, 1pm – 4pm. $35.
Do pork and wine go together like peanut butter and jelly? There’s only one way to find out. Head to Ray’s on the River this Saturday to try a variety of pork-inspired dishes (including desserts!) along with five samplings of Pinot Noir. A1A featuring Jeff Pike will provide live entertainment.

Nature is Dangerous and It will Hurt You: A Benefit for Jessica Miller
Blind Willie’s. Sunday, 2pm – midnight. $10 donation.

Georgia Shakespeare Presents: The Jungle Book
Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University. Thursday through Saturday, 10am. $13.
In what Creative Loafing calls “easily the best of the family shows Georgia Shakespeare has been staging since 2006,” audience members are invited to take an enchanting journey to the jungles of India for the adventure of a lifetime. Watch Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book be transformed into a musical voyage to another world where you’ll meet Mowgli and his furry friends, an experience that kids and kids at heart will treasure.
