Pirate and Princess Weekend
Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; Sunday, noon – 4:00 p.m. Free with general admission.
Arrrr, Matey! Don your best princess or pirate attire and join in on the fun! All ages are invited to walk the plank, create snow princess wands and get a (temporary) tattoo. Princess Leonor and a brave Knight of the Realm will be hosting an extra special story time, too! Be on the lookout for pirate guests all around the museum!

Chinese New Year Celebration and Kids’ Crafts

Celebrate Chinese New Year with the Children’s Museum of Atlanta this weekend! The Imaginators will entertain and educate your child about the year of the Dragon. Kids 8 and under are invited to partake in a craft and march in a parade!

Chinese New Year Festival – Year of the Dragon
Atlanta Chinese Culture Center in Chamblee. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. $5 (includes $2 worth of food).
Every year, CCC holds an enormous festival for two days in Chamblee to celebrate the Chinese New Year. With performances from the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company, dragon and lion dances, authentic Chinese food, arts and crafts, and calligraphy demonstrations, this event is a great opportunity for the local Atlanta community to experience and learn about the Chinese culture and traditions.

Whether you are an experienced fisherman or have never baited a hook, the Great Southern Fishing Show offers reasonably priced fishing gear, educational demonstrations, and other tricks of the trade for fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels. This show features exhibits pertaining to fly, shallow water, bass, and light tackle fishing, to name a few. Visit the show’s website for $1 off admission!

Buckhead Beer Fest
Parking lot of the Gold Room. Saturday. 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. $50. 21+ only. (Tent may not be heated if the temperature is above 60 degrees).
Who says it’s too cold for an outdoor beer festival? The first ever Buckhead Beer Fest features tastings of over 100 beers and wines from around the world, a giant tent, food trucks, live music from cover bands Ian Shumacher and Justin, and a commemorative promotional tasting glass (included with admission). A portion of the proceeds will benefit One Love Generation, a non-profit that empowers youth to use art, service, and awareness to inspire social change.
