Sugar Coma Festival: Fall Edition

Atlantic Station. Sunday, 2pm-6pm. Tickets: $25, in advance online only.

If your mouth waters for all things made of sugar, check out this exclusive event at Atlantic Station! Over 30 vendors will be on hand to delight you with samples of their decadent desserts. Admission includes a healthy sampling of the sweet treats. A DJ will be spinning “confection themed” playlists, learn a thing or two with baking demonstrations, and purchase full sized versions of your favorite desserts. Gluten-free and vegan delights will be available as well. It is a one stop sweet shop!

Third Annual “Bark If You Love Storytime”

Little Shop of Stories (Decatur). Sunday, 3 p.m – 5:30 p.m. 

Bring your (well-behaved) doggie to storytime this weekend! Canine books will be read aloud and treats will be available- don’t worry; dog treats will be provided by Taj Ma-Hound Bakery, while humans can enjoy separate snacks of their own.

Lucky Brand Jeans Fashion Show Hosted by Tim Gunn

Perimeter Mall: Lower Level, Dillard’s Wing. Saturday, 1pm. Admission: free.

Need some inspiration with your Fall/Winter wardrobe? Head on down to Perimeter Mall to see the latest fall looks from Lucky Brand Jeans. Tim Gunn, from Project Runway fame, will be hosting the event. Gunn, the Chief Creative Officer for Liz Claiborne, will also have a Q&A session following the fashion show.

Marietta Square. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. $30 Advance. $40 Race Day.

No fancy racing gear needed; this family-friendly 5K encourages you to run in your undies! Walk, run or jog your way to the finish as you help raise awareness about colorectal cancer prevention. Three miles a little too far? A one mile fun run starts at 9:10am.

North Atlanta Trade Center. Saturday. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Free.

Enjoy agility demonstrations, live entertainment, author readings and more as the Atlanta Pet Expo rolls into town. Considering adopting? Check out the Mega-Adoption event. Whether you’re looking for a lizard, kitty or anything in between, there is something for everyone at this event. Already have a canine companion? Both pups and their humans are welcome to attend.

An Afternoon with the Neelys – A Talk and Book Signing: Pat and Gina Neely, The Neelys’ Celebration Cookbook

Atlanta History Center. Sunday, 2 p.m. $10.

Fans of the popular Food Network series Down Home with the Neelys won’t want to miss this Meet and Greet event and book signing. Pat and Gina Neely, authors of the New York Times bestseller “Down Home with the Neelys,” are on the road promoting their newest cookbook, “The Neely’s Celebration Cookbook.” With a wildly successful tv show, restaurant locations in Nashville and Memphis, and a forthcoming BBQ restaurant in New York City, you would be wise to take advantage of this opportunity to meet the power couple in person!
