Great Atlanta Beerfest at Turner Field


The Great Atlanta Beer Fest

Turner Field. Saturday, 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. $40 in advance; $48 day of event. 21+.

The Great Atlanta Beer Fest at Turner Field will be held this Saturday, September 8th. Featuring over 150 different beers to samples from around the United States, there will also a be small selection of wines and ciders available. Grab a bite to eat from any one of Turner Field’s food stands and enjoy some live music on the stage at the Grand Entry Plaza. Ticket prices include a souvenir cup, entertainment, and beer samples. Rain or shine, come by Turner Field and sample some of the best brews.

Fashion's Night Out

Fashion’s Night Out

Lenox Square. Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Free.

Celebrate FNO’s fourth birthday at Lenox Square! Learn about new fall fashion and accessory trends and visit the pop up Beauty Bar. The first 100 people to Guest Services will receive a swag bag full of goodies. Visit Lenox Square’s site for more details and participating retailers.

Wheelbarrow Festival

Wheelbarrow Festival

Lang-Carson Park. Saturday, 11:00 a.m.. – 11:00 p.m. Free.

The 17th annual Wheelbarrow Festival will be taking place in Reynoldstown on Saturday.  The festival will feature an artist market, music all day on two different stages, activities for kids and tons of food trucks serving up some of Atlanta’s favorites like The Fry Guy and Homegrown.  All proceeds from the festival go to neighborhood revitalization and public safety.

Battle of the Burgers

Battle of the Burgers

John Howell Park. Saturday, 5K begins at 9:00 a.m.; Festival is from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 5K only $25; General Admission $25; VIP Admission $60; Kids under 10 $10.

Which Atlanta restaurant serves up the best burger? You’re about to find out. Watch several Atlanta burger joints such as Taco Maco, Grind House, Googie Burger and more duke it out for the title of the best burger in Atlanta. General admission entry includes unlimited burger tastings, while a VIP entry will give you unlimited burgers and beers. A special 5K kicks off the morning. This isn’t any old 5K though; participants will be given the opportunity to build a burger (and eat it) along the race route. Proceeds benefit Embraced, an organization who provides assistive mobility equipment to those in need.

Beltline Lantern Parade

Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade

Atlanta Beltline at Irwin Street. Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Free.

The Beltline Lantern Parade celebrates the trail that’s slated to be finished this fall.  Grab a lantern from home or make one in one of their free workshops as you join others to illuminate the trail, walking from the Old 4th Ward to the Park Tavern in Midtown.

Taqueria del sol

Taqueria del Sol 3rd Annual Hatch Chile Festival

Taqueria del Sol – Westside. Sunday, 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. $18.25.

Head to the Westside location of Taqueria del Sol on Sunday for a block-party celebrating the arrival of the annual shipment of chiles from New Mexico. Choose from a 5:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. reservation time to sample some of the chile dishes including rellenos, grits, burritos, slaw, gelato and cookies. A portion of the proceeds will go the Ossabaw Island Foundation.
