Shaky Knees Music Festival

Shaky Knees Music Festival

Masquerade Music Park.  Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  $61 for one-day ticket.  Kids under 5 free.

Why travel to Bonnaroo or Coachella when you can attend the Shaky Knees Music Festival right here in Atlanta? Get ready to hear some great music at this inaugural festival.  Spanning two days, this musical event features 28 bands including The Lumineers, Band of Horses and Drive By Truckers.

High Gravity Cinco

High Gravity Cinco

Georgia Freight Depot. Sunday, 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  $45 in advance; $50 day of event.  21+

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with this craft beer, wine and margarita festival at the Georgia Freight Depot in Underground Atlanta.  You will receive a souvenir tasting glass with unlimited beverage tastings and a souvenir gift bag.  This five hour event boasts a live salsa band with free salsa lessons, live DJs, free mechanical bull rides and an art gallery.  Olé.

Brownwood Bike Rally Classic

2013 Brownwood Bike Rally Classic

Brownwood Park.  Saturday, registration begins at 8:00 a.m.  Free for kids; $10 for adults to enter fun races; $20 for adults to enter Crit-Cross races.

Join the East Atlanta Kids Club as they host the 10th Annual Brownwood Bike Rally.  You’ll have the opportunity to enter yourself in street bike and “crit-cross” races and attend a bike safety and agility rodeo.  There will also be bike decoration, a health fair, and other activities that both kids and adults alike will enjoy.  Proceeds benefit the East Atlanta Kids Club’s after school programs.

Atlanta Dog Jog

 

Atlanta Dog Jog

Piedmont Park.  Saturday, 9:00 a.m.  $25 until May 1st; $30 after; Each additional dog $15.

Leash up your furry friend and head down to Piedmont Park for the Atlanta Dog Jog.  Choose from a one or two mile course, both of which benefit the VetHeart of Georgia and Canine Assistants.  Prizes will be given out for both races.  Participants are also welcome to run sans dog.

Mommy & Me Princess Tea

Mommy & Me Princess Tea

Rhodes Hall. Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  $50 each.

Take your favorite Princess to Rhodes Hall for a princess-filled high tea.  Disney favorites Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Mulan and Sofia the First will all be there.  Be sure to dress in your best princess dress.  This is a fundraiser for Girl Talk, Inc.

Alliance Ride

Alliance Ride

Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.  Friday and Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m.  $25-$45.

Take a bike ride for a cause this weekend at the Alliance Ride. All donations from this event help support Warrior Family Retreats and counseling services for returning soldiers. Choose between a 25 to 50 mile bike ride through Alpharetta and Milton.
