Kirkwood Family Find – Easter Egg Hunt

Bessie Branham Park. Saturday, 10am-noon. Free. The Easter Bunny has hidden 2,000 eggs in Kirkwood! Bring your kids (12 and under) to this “hoppening” event! The children will be divided into four age groups, starting with the 1-2 year old group at 10:30am. Face painting and other craft activities round out the fun! Complementary snacks will be provided. As the days grow warmer, fresh fruit seems more and more appealing. What if you could pick delicious fruit from trees right in your yard? Join Robby Astrove of Concrete Jungle as he teaches a workshop about planting fruit trees. He will go over site design, locations, planting techniques and yearly maintenance. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as you use the skills that you’ve learned to help start planting for the community center’s fruit orchard.

Shop and be inspired by the handcrafted traditional and contemporary jewelry on display at the Chastain Arts Center Jewelry Trunk Show. 12 artists will be showcasing and selling jewelry, clocks, and other small objects. A percentage of all sales benefits the Jewelry Program, which offers a variety of jewelry and metalsmithing classes to artists of all skill levels.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt

Dinosaur Egg Hunt

Fernbank Science Center. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. $5 plus price of museum admission. (Advance registration required!)

Kids of all ages can travel back in time to search for dinosaur eggs instead of ordinary Easter eggs this weekend. The festivities include games, raffles, temporary tattoos, an alligator slide, photos with a friendly dino, and more. Egg hunts will be divided into age groups, so that everyone has a fair chance to collect the hidden treasures. Bonus: Radio Disney AM590 is sponsoring games and promotional giveaways throughout the day!
