Weekend Guide: Cupid’s Undie Run, Q100’s Bitter Ball and more!

Hello, local readers! Hot off the press is this week’s edition of our weekend guide, filled with the best things to do in and around Atlanta this Thursday through Sunday. As always, be sure to add anything we missed in the comments section. Enjoy your weekend!!

Cupid’s Undie Run

Hand in Hand and Neighbors Pub (Virginia-Highland). Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Registration: $35 (until 2/10), $40 day of race.

Get off the couch this weekend and join the hottest 1.5-mile run! Six cities nationwide (DC, Atlanta, NYC, Seattle, Denver and Cincinnati) are participating in raising cash and hope for The Children’s Tumor Foundation. The party starts at noon with pre-race festivities at The Hand in Hand pub. Then, the Undie Run starts at 2pm. Prizes include romantic getaways, Amazon Kindles, embroidered bathrobes and more! You can enter the race as an individual, or gather a group of friends and race as a team! Fundraise $25 and receive a pair of “custom cupid’s undies!”

My 3rd Annual Furry Valentine and Fur Ball

2043 Cheshire Bridge Rd. Saturday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. $10 in advance; $15 at the door with festive attire; $20 at the door without festive attire. Faux fur “purrrrfurrred.”

Break out your faux fur for this annual bash. DJs, musicians, aerial performers, and artists will be showcasing their talents- don’t miss Charlie Smith (fire sculptor), Scott Fray and Foxy Moxy (world champion body painters 2011), Cirque-du-Surreal (fire performance troupe), and more!

Fashion Uncorked

Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center. Saturday, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. $25-$75.

Be a part of the action as ten of Atlanta’s top emerging fashion designers compete for a trip to LA and the chance to be featured in Sheen magazine. Their challenge: to create four unique looks inspired by the bold statement jewelry of Theresa Howard. Wine and sampling of fine food benefits Easter Seals North Georgia’s mission to assist adults and kids with disabilities. The star-studded event is hosted by Monica Pearson of Channel 2 Action News and the judging panel includes a former Miss United States, Project Runway and Project Accessory contestants, a CNN news anchor, and several prestigious names from the fashion world.

Q100’s Bitter Ball

Reign Nightclub. Saturday 9:00 p.m. $20 in advance. 21+

Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to to be romantic. Bitter Ball’s tagline is No Flowers, No Romance, No Unrealistic Expectations. Meet other singles who just want to have a good time this Valentine’s Day. This party is strictly for singles who want to celebrate the fun in being single!

Passion & Poetry 2012: A Love Jones Thang

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the movie Love Jones, come spend your Valentine’s Day enjoying poetry, music, artists and dancers. Park Tavern. Saturday 1:00 p.m. $25. 21+
