Top Ten Promotional Products for Summer

While it technically may still be spring, the summer heat is definitely being felt in Atlanta this week. With temperatures hitting the 90s, the summer cookouts are on and the Frisbees are flying. With that said, I’ve worked up my list of the top 10 promotional products for summer.

Catch them while they’re hot!

1.. Brightly colored sunglasses – Inexpensive, colorful and useful.
2. Koozie® can coolers – Keep your drink icy cold and your hands comfortably warm.
3. Flying Discs – Use as a paper plate holder at a picnic and then toss them around to digest.
4. Custom t-shirts – Perfect for family reunions, corporate picnics, summer camps and any other summer fun.
5. Bumper stickers – This may seem like an unexpected addition to the list, but road trips, anyone? Logo + car = LOTS of exposure.
6. Beach totes – A great beach tote will last for years, and is a much-needed promotional product for vacationers everywhere.
7. Water bottles – Quench your thirst on the beach, by the pool, in the park or at the office.
8. Custom visors – They block the sun like your favorite hat, but help keep you feeling cool and comfy.
9. Sunscreen stick – The sun is hot! Don’t get burned.
10. Branded towels – After spending time in the pool or ocean, a large beach towel is a great way to dry off.

Easy Bean Dip + SmashWipe Promo Products = Delicious and Mess-Free Cinco de Mayo

Tomorrow, millions of Mexicans and Americans on both sides of the border will gather in neighborhood bars, local restaurants and at friends’ houses to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. These celebrations honor the anniversary of an 1862 battle when the Mexican army- considered the underdog- defeated Napoleon III’s powerful French army. From the small yet popular block party in Atlanta’s Virginia Highlands neighborhood to the largest Cinco de Mayo street fair in the world that occurs annually in Los Angeles, celebrations in the United States seem to grow in size and spirit every year.

Companies can join the festivities with informal lunchtime barbecues designed to increase camaraderie amongst employees and managers. In fact, studies show that providing informal opportunities for employees to gather often results in increased motivation, innovative ideas and even more sales. So fire up the grill and start cooking! Just don’t forget to bring custom SmashWipes for an easy cleanup. Employees can wash their hands with these convenient washcloths in order to return to work mess-free, while also taking note of the imprinted logo.

Promotional products for outdoor events

As the weather is getting warmer and we are getting into the full swing of Spring, it is time to dust off those flip flops and get outdoors. Promotional products play a big part in the changing seasons and outdoor promotional products are some of the best products I believe we have to offer in our industry. Living in Atlanta, the warm weather means an increase in activities as well, ranging from concerts to sporting events. It is just nice to be outside and relax in the sun. I just bought my first grill for my new townhouse and I need to get some promotional picnic products. I might have to order a sample, because we even sell those.

The promotional product & the concert. Love at first musical note.

Last night, I attended a 30 Seconds to Mars concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. While I do not attend nearly the amount of concerts as I used to, I’m still a sucker for a great band, live music and the energy that emanates from the audience at a rock show.

While we had a great time listening to the music we love, I – being in the promotional products industry – couldn’t help but be attracted to the marketing and branding efforts going on throughout the entire event.

How to Save Money on Everything from Groceries to Promotional Products

They say a dollar saved is a dollar earned. And this adage has never been truer than in today’s tumultuous economy. So as a tribute to the fact that today is National Teach your Children to Save Day, I thought now would be a good time to discuss consumer behavior and ways to save on everything from groceries to promotional products.

Lions and tigers and promotional products… Oh my!

Home to 4000 species of exotic animals and 100 acres of lush wildlife, the San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most famous zoos in the country. I can attest to the vastness first hand because I was lucky enough to visit the Zoo this past weekend. While there, I pet a camel, heard about numerous conservation efforts, learned that koalas are marsupials (not bears) and was able to snap this photo of the San Diego Zoo’s promotional products.

I also started thinking about how much animals influence the realm of business. Over the years, well-known companies in a variety of industries have used animals as a logo to symbolize their strong brands.

Get Your Noses Ready for…Scented Promotional Products

Okay so we all know that promotional products can be more influential for brand recognition than other forms of advertising because they are essentially tangible ads – and thus are able to appeal to our perception more easily, in that they are physical entities that can be seen and touched. Well now some promotional product manufacturers are adding a new corporal attribute into the mix – smell.

One of the most promising of these new items is the Scent-Sational Grip Promotional Pen, which is reminiscent of the classic Mr. Sketch “smelly markers” that we all cherished in grade school.

There are a few others, however, that I am not sure will bring about such a delicate joy for the old olfactory sense.

iPad Hits Stores – and the Promotional Products Market

Yep that’s Apple’s new iPad, featured in its first television commercial that debuted during the Academy Awards on March 7th. Finally released on April 3, more than 300,000 iPads were sold on that first day alone, with more than 1 million apps and 250,000 e-books downloaded by users as well. One of my coworkers in the Web Development Department here at Pinnacle exclaimed last week how he was excited to be getting his tax refund as he was taking it straight to the Apple store to pick up his very own. I think I responded by saying very politely that I thought the iPad was “neat” but that I wasn’t quite sure the purpose it would serve for me (or the excuse I could use to spend the money to purchase one) as I already own an iPhone and MacBook. His response was some version of, “Me neither. I just want it.”

That answer my friends, is what brings us to one of the causes for what will inevitably be the success of the iPad, and anything else Apple conjures up for that matter – brand loyalty – to the point where Apple consumers can even define themselves by a connection to the brand (case in point – Apple’s “I’m a Mac” campaign). After all, it’s not every company that has consumers sleeping outside their stores just to be one of the first to buy their new product (recall the craze for Apple’s iPhone release back in summer 07). While I haven’t heard of anyone pulling out their sleeping bags yet, it seems to be just about on par with sales of its other devices and the Apple brand and its loyal consumers seem to be just as strong as ever.
