Essential Tailgating Items

I’m going to preface this post by saying that it’s slightly ironic that I’m about to write about football. I went to a school in New England that didn’t even have a football team (Go Catamounts – there were other sports that we were good at!) and I’ve never been to a football game in my life. However, I can appreciate a good tailgate and that’s what I want to blog about.

If you live in the south, like I do, you know that college football is absolutely huge here. I have a lot of friends who plan their entire fall around football games. And with football comes tailgating. Like I said, I’ve never been to a football game. But I have been to a baseball tailgate on more than a few occasions and I figure that they’re probably pretty similar.

So, I present to you, the essential promotional products for a good tailgate!

Cooler

First things first – a good cooler is essential.  Whether it’s soda or beer that’s your preference, drinks are a must at a tailgate.  As a bonus, many of our coolers double as chairs.

Grill

If you have drinks, you’ve got to have food too and nothing screams tailgate more than some grilled burgers or hot dogs (make mine veggie).  A nice portable grill is a great addition to any tailgate.

Chair

Obviously, you aren’t going to want to stand the entire time, so a portable fold up chair is a solid tailgate item.  These can easily be stored in the trunk of your car and many of them (like the one pictured) have a place for your beverage on the arm rest.

Koozie

If you’re more of the social butterfly type and don’t see yourself sitting in a chair or on a cooler for the entire tailgate, be sure to have a can cooler on hand for your beverage.  No one likes hot beer.

Blanket

I don’t know about you, but I get cold rather easily and the fall weather in the south is really unpredictable.  I know that some people think it’s hot here year round, but it’s definitely not!  At least not in Georgia.  You might not need a blanket, but it’s not a bad thing to have just in case.  If there’s a freak snow storm, you’ll thank me.

Gazebo

Lastly, while I wouldn’t say a gazebo is a tailgate necessity, let’s face it, it’s pretty awesome.  With a huge imprint area for your logo, people will definitely see your gazebo and know that your brand knows how a tailgate is done!

So there you have it, some of my favorite tailgating items. Are you a college football fan? Tell us who your favorite team is in the comments.
