Spice it Up!

Looking for a way to season up your marketing efforts over the hot summer? Think back to those carnivals and fairs you attended when you were a kid… You’d play tons of expensive games just to win that cute stuffed animal. Apply that logic this summer to your marketing strategy. Why not add a contest into your normal marketing mix?! Whether for your internal employees, customers or both, a fun and interactive contest or game is a great way to boost business.

Develop an interactive game to include for a short time on your website. Let your clients know in an e-blast and drive traffic to your site. We can all get a little anxious on those beautiful summer afternoons. Send your customers a link to your contest or game and offer them a five-minute break from the stressors of the day. Have a little fun with your marketing! They’ll appreciate your efforts and remember you for it. Offer branded apparel and summer-appropriate prizes like picnic sets to winners. Participants have fun while participating and are always thrilled to leave with a prize.

When your prizes are fun imprinted products that promote your company, you make clients happy while boosting your business. And while you’re at it, don’t forget your employees! Have leftover giveaways from your contest? Use them at your summer employee cookout. The summer is a great time to show them your appreciation. Give out new corporate apparel or even an imprinted cooler. Its always a great time to show you care!

More Hours in a Day?

Well, maybe not more hours in a day, but more hours of sunlight each day… Can you believe the photo above was taken at 11:00 pm? Yesterday was the Summer Solstice, also known as the longest day of the year. A solstice can be defined as an astronomical event which occurs twice a year, when the Earth’s axis is tilted to the greatest degree toward or away from the Sun, thus bringing the Sun’s position in the sky as seen from Earth to its northernmost or southernmost extreme.

Fortunately for all those people constantly reiterating that “there aren’t enough hours in a day,” the Summer Solstice means more hours of daylight in the northern hemisphere. Solar-powered calculators or alarms are especially appropriate giveaways during summer months because of the few additional hours of sunshine each day able to power these energy-efficient products. Watches are other promotional items that make great summertime gifts or freebies, as extended daylight hours often interfere with peoples’ internal clocks- I know I tend to check my watch more frequently when the sun doesn’t set until 9:00 pm! Include an informational sheet or even a factual tagline on the item itself to educate recipients about the reason for the season.

Summer is a fantastic time to implement creative promotional campaigns and surprise clients and employees with unique giveaways that they can utilize all day long- particularly when every day around the solstice provides bonus hours for them to use promotional products custom imprinted with your logo!

Indulge in a Vanilla Milkshake!

Jonny2love-milkshakeDid you know that today is Vanilla Milkshake Day? Okay, I know it is 2009, but nobody can deny that retro diners are still thriving. All-American burger joints can be found in just about any city across the U.S.A., and all strive to emit the same classic vibe. Whether you own a diner or are looking for ideas to support a retro-themed event or campaign, there are many ways to create a 1950s-esque atmosphere. Have patrons expecting to walk outside and wave hello to Wally Cleaver with retro promotional products. If spacious booths and checkerboard tile patterns are out of your price range, keep reading for suggestions that are as effective as a time machine (and require nowhere near as much capital or time to create)!

Waiters and waitresses racing around the floor delivering burgers in a retro uniform shirt, preferably on roller skates, are a great starting point. The décor can further enhance guests’ overall experiences, and why not make items like custom imprinted retro clocks available for purchase? By putting them prominently on display, you will draw attention to your logo and convey your cohesive brand identity to others. For retro parties or promotional campaigns, a hamburger stress reliever featuring your brand’s logo or slogan is a witty and unique way to advertise your theme.

And last, but certainly not least, let’s not forget the topic of this post- milkshakes! Serve milkshakes in whatever trademark shape or size glassware you would like. Top each tasty drink with whipped cream and a cherry, and finish off your retro-themed ambiance or campaign. Happy Sipping!

Don’t Forget About Dad…

web4camguyThis Sunday is Father’s Day (and my baby’s due date), so I’m hoping my husband will get to celebrate his first Father’s Day. He has been very excited that our child’s birthday could land right on Father’s Day and hopefully be a very memorable day in our family. I’m just ready to have this baby… 9 months is a long time!

If you’re like me and have had a lot on your mind lately, you probably have waited until the last minute to find the perfect gift for Dad. It seems that most Dads already have everything, but catering to their hobbies and interests is the best way to guarantee he’ll be happy with your gift. My dad is obsessed with golf, so basically any golf-related gift is sure to be a hit from a premium golf shirt to personalized golf balls or a golf towel. Golf gifts are great because I know he’ll use the gift regularly when he is out on the course. Other great father’s day gift ideas are promotional tools for the handy man, computer accessories for the high-tech dad and a classic gift idea for any dad is a watch.

No matter what gift you decide on this Father’s Day, remember it’s the thought that counts. Spending quality time with the ones you love is the best gift you can give.

Get Your Brand Out at Outdoor Festivals & Events!

Screen on the GreenOutdoor summer movie festivals provide advertisers with ample opportunity to increase brand exposure. On Wednesday night I attended one such free showing, and immediately noticed the abundance of booths and promoters lining the perimeter of the screening area.

Surrounding restaurants offered special deals on “box” dinners for audience members, and even though I had not heard of many of the restaurants, by glancing around at the food containers in front of my movie-watching neighbors, I soon knew what local options were available. DJs from an Atlanta radio station manned a giveaway wheel for passersby, and offered prizes like logo t-shirts and key chains, while another company distributed free bottled water with custom labels featuring their contact information.

Another unique promotional idea to generate buzz at outdoor concerts or festivals is giving away custom imprinted mints or gum. A new product introduction to this category is energy gum, which provides a pick-me-up when it is consumed. Keep in mind that you do not need to spend a lot of money to make a lasting impact with your giveaways!

Any local event that draws a crowd is a great place to reach potential customers, and promotional products may be exactly what you need to grow your business’ clientele.

Better Safe Than Sorry!

hardhatman

June is National Safety Month sponsored by the National Safety Council.  They are encouraging everyone to improve their safety practices in the workplace, at home and in the community.  Small safety precautions in your everyday life can make a huge impact on decreasing the number of injuries and deaths that occur each year.

Many companies take National Safety Month as an opportunity to promote their workplace safety guidelines for the whole year.  Incorporating imprinted safety promotional products into your safety presentation is a great way to provide valuable information without losing your employees’ interest. Kick off the month with a fun imprinted giveaway item for all your employees that shows you care about their safety, like the Talking Safety Stress Reliever.    The safety stress reliever says, “Remember, safety is our #1 goal.  So smile, be safe and enjoy your day!” when squeezed.  You’ll be surprised how an inexpensive, but unique promotional item will get the whole company excited for the month-long celebration.

A useful item to hand out to your employees to promote safety is a flashlight imprinted with your company logo.  Everyone can use a flashlight whether they keep it in their car, at their desk or at home;  there are many times when a flashlight can shed some light on an otherwise dangerous situation.

Remember, promoting your corporate safety guidelines doesn’t have to be boring…  spice it up with unique safety promotional items!

Hittin’ the Pool

pool promotional productsMost schools are out and summer is well underway. The local pools are packed with kids and those trying to get rid of their pale winter skin. I spent the past weekend laying by my friend’s pool, bronzing myself and trying to stay hydrated in this Atlanta heat. There were a couple of promotional products that I brought along with me that I could not have done without. First and foremost I have to have good music playing while I’m laying out, so portable promotional speakers to connect to my iPod were a must. The next essential was my Pinnacle branded collapsible cooler filled with refreshments and snacks. And lastly, my new favorite promotional product for this summer the Personal Mister, which is a plastic bottle you fill with ice cold water and with a click of a button produces an ultra fine cooling mist. This product is heaven… it was wonderful to have at the pool, but would be great for the beach, amusement parks, and sporting events too!

Summer is a great season to give out unique and useful promotional products to your clients. Everyone is outside enjoying the good weather and those smart marketers are taking this opportunity to brand themselves with promotional items for outdoor events this summer.

What is Your Favorite Candy?

jellybeans

From jelly beans and runts to gumballs and gummi worms, everyone has a favorite candy they indulge in once in awhile. June is National Candy Month… I know what you’re thinking: it sounds like a made up holiday, but it’s not. I think they have a month, week or day for everything, but this one I don’t mind celebrating! For most people, candy brings up many great memories from childhood. Remember when you saved up all your money to run down to the local store and buy a candy bar or sugary snack? Candy is a sweet treat that almost everyone enjoys; I know in our office the Starburst jar is always running low by the end of the week.

As the old saying goes, the way to your heart is through your stomach. Treat your clients to customized promotional candy from imprinted gumpaks and custom mint tins to a longer lasting promotional candy item, like the desktop jelly bean tin filled with jelly beans in your corporate colors. Custom candy is a great promotional item to use as a leave behind at a sales call, for thank you gifts, as well as corporate holiday gifts. You’ll be surprised that your clients will remember your tasty generosity long after the candy is gone.

“Say Cheese!”

May is National Photography Month! There is no better time than the present to start documenting and preserving your most treasured memories. The old adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” says it all: whether they are goofy, sentimental, or historical in nature, photos capture a moment in time that can never be repeated.

As a gift or giveaway, cameras are a valuable piece of equipment for recording special events and occurrences, and custom imprinted cameras can integrate your company’s name or logo into the photographer’s memories for years to come. Digital frames are another creative gift idea, as they incorporate cutting edge technology with a thoughtful, personalized item.

For more traditional ways to store and organize photographs, photo albums or picture frames turn timeless snapshots into pieces of art.

Don’t forget to “Say Cheese!” and smile for the camera over the next few days in honor of National Photography Month!
