Harry Potter’s Emma Watson Promotes Eco-Friendly Apparel

Posted on June 17th, 2011

With the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 quickly approaching, the hype surrounding the movie’s three main stars is bigger than ever. Almost a decade has passed since the public was introduced to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first installment of the Harry Potter movie series, and since then the frenzy surrounding the three main characters and the franchise as a whole has remained constant. Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, who play Harry Potter and Ron Weasley respectively, have long since delved into projects outside of Harry Potter. Emma Watson, however, who was named Hollywood’s highest paid actress in 2010, has only just begun to break free of her Hermione Granger mold.

Watson enrolled at Brown University in September 2009 and is currently involved in the filming of The Perks of Being a Wallflower but the exact details of life post Harry Potter are still uncertain. The famed actress, who advocates fair-trade fashion, is quoted in July’s issue of Vogue magazine saying that she “wants to explore more of her creative side,” which some speculate could refer to the creation of more eco-friendly apparel. Watson’s interest in eco-friendly apparel is so strong that she has even offered to work for free as long as the employer is willing to produce fair-trade organic clothing.

For Earth Day Promote Sustainability with Recycled Promotional Products

Posted on April 21st, 2011

recycled promotional productsThe Green Festival is a premier sustainability event where communities, business, and individuals can gather to learn about how they can create and live healthy and environmentally friendly lives.

At these festivals across the nation, screened exhibitors distribute recycled promotional products, teach natural living, and share the most recent developments in “green” technology.

In the past, these environmental groups and Earth Days alike have inspired changes in social behavior. Legislative acts such as The Clean Air Act and the Clean water Act were implemented as a result of community efforts. Therefore, it is important to draw awareness to events, businesses, and communities such as these. Every business and or individual can make one small change to promote sustainability. Whether it is distributing customized recycled promotional products, changing to energy efficient light bulbs, or recycling office papers, each act is a step toward an environmentally sustainable society.

Make It a Habit to Remember Reusable Grocery Bags

Posted on March 17th, 2011

reusable grocery bags from Pinnacle PromotionsWhile many large grocery chains have offered rebates to shoppers who bring their own reusable grocery bags in the past, they are learning that discounts alone are not enough to reinforce this environmentally friendly habit. While 50% of consumers in 2010 stated they “try” to bring reusable bags from home to the supermarket, half of those shoppers report actually using reusable grocery bags never or less often than once a month. Posted on January 21st, 2011

Rob EnslinOn Wednesday, January 19th Starbucks began accepting mobile payments for products at about 6,800 U.S company-operated locations. Now, all that frequent “Starbucksers” need is their smart-phone and re-usable travel mugs!

Individuals with a Starbucks’ card (a re-loadable card that offers rewards to frequent buyers) can upload the Starbucks Card Mobile App on to their iPhone, iPod touch, or Blackberry. Once in the store, you simply open up the Starbucks Card Mobile App, select “touch to pay” and face the bar-code on the phone toward the 2-D scanner and…voila!

What was wrong with good old cash and Starbucks’ paper cups? After completing some rigorous testing, The company reported that the smart-phone app check out process was faster than using traditional cash or credit card. As for the cup, re-usable travel mugs save the earth!

As the Gulf Coast oil spill and accusations against BP continue to make headline news, there is more emphasis now than ever before on what companies can do to promote awareness and create environmentally friendly policies and products. Recently, renowned French designer Pierre Andre Senizergues and other famous designers hopped on board with their line of Greend shirts (find them on coolhunting.com) that illustrate the fashionable side of awareness. Companies can take note from these shirts, aimed at individual consumers, by outfitting all employees in Eco friendly apparel.

Reusing & recycling art: from billboards to custom bags

Posted on May 14th, 2010

Where does a billboard go when it has reached the end of it’s days as a large-scale advertisement?

Unfortunately the majority of these literal advertising giants end up occupying tons of space in our country’s landfills. Now, however, thanks to some ingenious creativity, corporate advertisers can get even more bang for their billboard-advertising bucks. Made of durable, weather-resistant vinyl, the large format artwork of billboards can now be transformed from a prominent outdoor advertising medium into colorful and unique promotional bags.

Promotional EarthSmart Products for Earth Day

Posted on March 9th, 2010

There is only one circumstance in which we cannot offer our famous 24-hour Rocketship Service: when the item is out of stock. This is exactly why I am writing about Earth Day more than a month in advance; I do not want anyone to miss out on this great opportunity for functional and unique Eco-friendly promotional EarthSmart products!

It seems these days you can get a “green” variation on just about any product imaginable. Just thinking about some of the items I use on an everyday basis, I jot down notes on a recycled notebook with a biodegradable pen made from corn. When I go to the grocery store, I stash my purchases in a tote made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Even when I need a caffeine fix, I sip from a biodegradable Evolve tumbler.

But the “green” trend has evolved much further than the standard popular items. In the office, you can feature your loved ones in photo albums made from bamboo and grow a plant at your desk. And if you need to leave your desk for a meeting, just hit the Computer Power Saver Button to effortlessly put your computer to sleep . When entertaining guests at home, you can yell at them to put their sweaty drinks on coasters that are 51% recycled . Even while you are traveling the world, you can safely keep your passport and other travel documents in a recycled passport wallet.

Green Promotional Products and Ideas: Gifts That Give Back

Posted on December 22nd, 2009

It’s the Holiday Season and we all need ideas for gifts! It is always so hard for me to come up with the PERFECT gift, so I take any help on suggestions I can get. One of my best friends sent me a “Holiday Good Guide” entitled “Doing Good this Holiday”. She works for a sustainable company that strives everyday to be completely “green.” One day they could only use 6 gallons of water for 12 hours! I did not realize how much water we use in a day, but believe me it is WAY over 6 gallons. This guide serves to show what we can do for our communities, our environment, and our society. I have really enjoyed going through the different suggestions, and would love to share some of the points made in the guide with you!

First, the guide lays out different charities that people can donate to this season. For example, Nothing but Nets is a campaign to raise awareness and funds to combat malaria. Just a $10 donation sends a net to people in need and hopefully saves a life! It might be a good idea to donate that $10 in someone’s name. There you go! 1 gift down, and it saves a life!

Next, the guide tells us about Eco-Friendly gifts for the Holidays! They suggest giving energy efficient bulbs, natural candles, recycled windshield wine glasses, and eco totes (which you can get from Pinnacle Promotions… where else would you go??).

Another suggestion they offer is going to your local farmer’s market, or shopping at a community supported agriculture cooperative to receive food from HERE not there! I LOVE great food, and the fruits, veggies and other goodies from these associations are bound to be fresh, healthy, and yummy. Hmm, I could get this service delivered to my mom and grandmother for Christmas. Three gifts down, and I feel good about giving these presents!

The last tip in the guides has 10 steps; “10 Ways to Go Green.” Number 10 is to bring your own bag. Pinnacle Promotions has you covered there! Check out our reusable totes in all different colors and sizes. Take your tote with you everywhere: the grocery store, the drug store, the local farmers market, shopping, and the list goes on! What a great way to go GREEN this holiday. This guide has helped me SO much with my Holiday List, and hopefully through my short summary, it will help you, too. It is great to know that I can give presents to my friends and family, and also give back to my community and society! Happy Holidays!
