NBC’s America’s Got Talent Auditions

AmericasMart Atlanta. Saturday and Sunday; Register online for audition time. Free.

Don’t miss your chance to show America your talent and compete for the opportunity of a lifetime at winning the Grand Prize of $1 million dollars. Atlanta is one of the last four cities holding open auditions for Season 6 of America’s Got Talent, which is scheduled to air this summer. Every type of performer is welcome at any age. Atlanta Winter Beer Fest 2011

Masquerade Music Park. Saturday, 5pm – 10pm. $30 advance, $35 at the door.

Enjoy six-ounce tastings of beers brewed in our own backyard and around the country at the annual Atlanta Winter Beer Fest this weekend. Local breweries Sweetwater, Red Brick, and Terrapin will be featured along with a variety of other unique brews from across the nation. Yacht Rock Schooner & Stokeswood will play live music to keep you entertained while you play drinking games like flip cup and beer pong, and an afterparty will follow inside the club.

The Macallan Scotch Tasting Through the Ages

Atkins Park (N. Highland location). Thursday, 6:30pm. $35.

Venture down to this Virginia Highlands restaurant to enjoy the several life points of Macmallan Scotch. Not only will you learn about this fine liquor from the “Ambassador” himself, but Chef Andrew will accompany your tastings with a variety of speciality “bites.” There is limited seating so make sure to grab your tickets right away!

Winter Luau at Tap

Tap. Saturday, 8pm – 11pm. Free.

This Saturday marks the fourth annual Winter Luau at Tap, so come dressed in a Hawaiian shirt or a grass skirt to hula dance the night away to live luau music. Half-priced foods and drink specials are on the menu, including chips and salsa and fried pickles. Anyone brave enough to enter a hula hoop spin-off contest can attempt to hula hoop their way to a first place $50 bar tab prize or second place promotional Tap t-shirt. Also up for grabs? $10 gift card giveaways for Concentrics Restaurants.

Sunday School: Bourbon 101

Ecco. Sunday, 6pm. Free.

Dust off your school supplies and head to Ecco this Sunday evening for the first class in their new Sunday School education series. Your instructors (Ecco’s scholarly bartenders) will teach you about the history, facts, tastes, and recipes of your favorite libations: this week, you’ll learn about Kentucky’s signature drink in Bourbon 101. Reservations aren’t necessary – just don’t be tardy!

2nd Annual Atlanta Snuggie Pub Crawl

Dark Horse Tavern. Saturday, 1pm – 8pm. $10 in advance; $15 at the door.

Don your finest Snuggie (robes, blankets, and towels are also acceptable apparel) and join this Highlands pub crawl. There will be food and drink specials at all participating bars, including: Dark Horse Tavern, Limerick Junction, Diesel, Atkins Park, Hand and Hand, Neighbor’s Pub, and Blind Willies, as well as a costume contest at the last stop. A portion of proceeds benefits Small Dog Rescue and Humane Society.
