Hello, local readers. Once again we’re here with your weekend guide to the city of Atlanta. So keep reading to find out the best activities for a long-anticipated three-day weekend. Happy Memorial Day! And be sure to add anything we missed in the comments.

Atlanta Jazz Festival

Piedmont Park. Saturday, noon-11 pm with main stage performances at 2pm. Free.

Listen to live music from local artists while enjoying a cool brew in the Bud Light Beer Garden. For more family-oriented activities, check out the Publix KidZone, where kids can learn about healthy eating habits and compete in jump rope contests. Bringing cans and bottles to recycle — from home or straight from the Beer Garden — will earn you a vintage Atlanta Jazz Festival poster.

Screen on the Green

Piedmont Park. Starts Thursday at Sundown. Free.

Good news to those who fear venturing below Midtown — Screen on the Green returns to Piedmont Park this summer after a two-year stint at Centennial during the drought. It debuts tonight at sundown with National Treasure, but festivities begin a little earlier with local DJs and music performances from local artists. Check it out this week and every Thursday through June 24.

The Change: Another Teenage Werewolf Musical

Dad’s Garage. Starting Friday at 8. $15-22.

Due to movies like Wolf Man and The Twilight Saga, vampires are not the only hot commodity on the market anymore. The Change revolves around a teenager who not only has to deal with the awkwardness of adolescence, but the fact he is a werewolf as well.  Should be a howling good time with 80s inspired dance routines.
