Chinese New Year 2011
Woodruff Arts Center. Sunday, 3:30pm. $10+.
The Chinese Business Association of Atlanta (CBAA) presents the 19th Annual Chinese Spring Festival Celebration Performance on Sunday at Atlanta Symphony Hall to celebrate the beginning of the lunar calendar year of the Rabbit. The cultural event will feature a variety of traditional Chinese folk songs and dances for your viewing and listening pleasure.

Randel McGee & Groark
Center for Puppetry Arts. Thursday & Friday, 10am & 11:30am; Saturday, 11am, 1pm & 3pm; Sunday, 1pm & 3pm. $9 members, $16 non-members.
With the guidance of his trusty cohort Randel McGee, Groark the guitar-playing dragon has made it all the way from his home in California to Midtown Atlanta’s own Center for Puppetry Arts. Join Randel and Groark for fun songs and sing-a-longs and visit the Center’s Create-a-Puppet Workshop and Museum while you’re there – both are included in the show’s ticket price.

Gone with the Wind
Earl Smith Strand Theatre. Saturday, 7pm. $15.
Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn if you have other plans. Head to the Strand for a showing of Gone with the Wind on the big screen in honor of the Theatre’s second anniversary, the 80th birthday of Earl Smith, and the 75th anniversary of the novel. Come early for an organ show and sing-a-long at 6:30 or visit the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum for a free tour (with ticket).

Atlanta Boat Show
World Congress Center. Thursday – Friday, 11am – 9pm; Saturday, 10am – 9pm; Sunday, 10am – 6pm. $9 (Children 15 & under free).
The 49th annual Atlanta Boat Show cruises into the Georgia World Congress Center for four days of fun Jan. 13-16, 2011. Visitors to the 2011 show can view, board and buy hundreds of boats from the region’s top dealers and take advantage of show specials on the latest marine accessories and electronics. Don’t forget to look out for promotional products up for grabs from the exhibitors.

Lauryn Hill In Concert
Center Stage. Friday, 9pm. $67.50.
Whether you’re a Fugees fan or just love Lauryn Hill, you can catch Ms. Hill’s deeply soulful styling this Friday. Doors open at 8pm but Lauryn won’t hit the stage until 11pm, so you’ve got plenty of time to get a bite to eat at one of Midtown’s famous restaurants near the venue.

Doggies on the Catwalk 2011
Grady High School Gymnasium & Park Tavern. Friday, 7pm. $25.
This four-legged fashion show is a benefit for Pets Are Loving Support, and will showcase the work of students from Grady High School’s UrbanCouture program. Local celebrities, including Q100’s Jenn Hobby, 11Alive’s Evelyn Mims, and Holly Firfer of CNN, and their dogs will model the students’ creations. Attendees can park across the street at Park Tavern for less than $10 and catch a free Fur Bus shuttle to the event.
